The Club Captains/Members Reps will become separate roles, with Michelle Mackay and Andy Baker continuing next year as the Members Reps.
Group Run Structure
Committee has agreed a structure for both groups and new wording has been done for the website. It is as follows:
DH RUNNERS GROUP GUIDANCE As the club continues to grow we wanted to remind members of guidance for the group runs that we currently have on offer.
TUESDAY (INTERMEDIATE AND ABOVE) This group generally runs 10K each session and can include hill and speed work. It is recommended that you are able to run the full distance in 75 minutes (12 minutes per mile) to ensure run leader support can be arranged.
THURSDAY BEGINNERS GROUP This session covers a distance of 5k and is designed to welcome complete beginners who are welcome to run or walk as much as they like. This session has a maximum pace of ten minute miles and we ask that this is respected. This is to ensure that the group feel comfortable with the pace and is able to be fully supported throughout by run leaders. We always welcome other runners to assist the run leaders but they must do this with the agreement of the run leader in advance of the day. We are currently running taster sessions every second month on Tuesdays to aid the transition from this group to the Tuesday group. Also runners returning from injury may be best placed in the Thursday session in the short term to aid recovery
YOU CAN RUN SESSIONS This is a six week course for complete beginners which runs three times a year. The You Can Run sessions run parallel to the Thursday group to support anyone who feels they need some extra support when learning to run. Once the six weeks are over attendees will then move into the Thursday group.
Car Parking Issues
This seems to have resolved itself. We will still encourage runners to car-share where necessary and apply common sense when parking!
The committee agreed that the no under 18’s at run groups needs to be reinforced going forward.
