2 Welcome from the Chair and Report
Welcome, we are back!
2021 year starting to return to normality following a very frustrating and difficult 2020
Throughout the lockdowns the clubs’ membership did what we are best at, we stuck together, helped and supported each other. I would like to thank you all for the resilience and patience that was demonstrated during the last 12 to 18 months.
DH Runners is a community and one of the ways we show that is through fundraising, both directly from the club and through its members.
Supporting the nominated club charity has not been easy as many events stopped, however the Club have donated and supported many great causes over the past year.
- 10 Men Challenge £100
- Brake Charity
- Patterdale Mountain Rescue (Chris Lewis Support Fund) £100
- Charity of the year Hospice at Home £500
- The payment received from The Lakesman for our Feedstation support was also passed onto Hospice at Home.
Big thank you for all the fundraising and volunteering that you are doing as individuals.
Races, events and challenges are back and have had some notable performances and achievements during the past 12 months. We have had race winners, age category winners, personal achievements such as first 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, 30 miler, 50 miler, and even a 100 miler.
It doesn’t matter how fast or how far anyone runs, we are all out there enjoying representing our club.
I would like to thank all the Run Leaders for the work they put in planning and leading the groups.
Also, a big thanks to all the 2021/22 committee members for their valuable contribution to the club. Both Run Leaders and Committee Members give up their time freely to help run the club, please can we have a round of applause as acknowledgement.

4 Run Group Reports
Given by Lindsay Graham. Run groups are now back. Had been difficult and challenging for the committee and run leaders to decide when the right time was to restart as guidance kept changing. Run groups started off quite small and people had to book in. Now Tuesday and Thursday are happening as normal and attendance numbers are growing. Monday nights haven’t restarted, it’s not feasible at the moment due to the availability of the Run Leaders. From January the Committee and Run Leaders have decided to introduce a 5 mile option as well as the usual 5k option on a Thursday evening. We continue to have different routes and types of sessions. We are open to members suggesting routes they might like to do; suggestions can be made via the female or male reps or to one of the Run Leaders. A survey will go out members in 2022 for feedback for what’s working well and what you want to see in the future. Feedback will go towards helping the Committee form a 5-year vision for the club.

6 Charity of the Year Update
Usually
this has been voted for prior to the AGM and an announcement is made as to which
Charity of the Year we will have for the coming year. Many or our own members
have raised money individually for a variety of charities. Due to Covid this
last year it has made it difficult to raise money for the Club Charity as
usually something like the 24-hour relay would’ve generated money for Club
Charity. During Covid we have had some individual requests for donations and
support, and as reported earlier we have made various donations on behalf of
the club. An email will be sent out to members to ask if they want to continue
to have a Club Charity or to consider whether we do our support of fundraising
in a different way.
7 Members Choice Award
An email will go out for members to ask them to send in nominations for the Members Choice Award. Members can nominate someone who has stood out this year. This will be awarded at the Christmas Party on 11 Decembers 2021.
8 Members Awards for 2020
RunLeaders nominated members and they were voted for by the committee, for these
awards last year, with not having a Christmas Party they were unable to be
presented to the recipients. DH Runner of the Year was awarded to Rosie
Holliday for amazing achievements, progressed in her running and gained in
confidence. DH Beginner of the Year was awarded to Rachel Murdoch for showing
determination, completing You Can Run, going on to complete 5k and 10k and for
supporting others in their running.
9 Announcements
The River Run will be held on Sunday 13 February 2022. Entries will be going live on 1 December. A link will be sent out. A River Run will also held in October.
