Welcome to the first weekly roundup for DH Runners. It was a busy old, and varied, weekend of events for DH Runners last weekend.
Saturday at Carlisle parkrun brought PB's for Michael Irving, Wayne Watson, Simone Rouse, Sarah Cupac, Rebecca Wilson, Kathryn Holliday, Ruth Woodhouse, Sue Dawkins, Helen Cupac, Nicola Jackson, Liz Richmond and Lucy Jackson.
Sunday saw DH Runners stalwart Stephen Weston complete the Seville marathon in 2:44:50 bagging a PB in the process. Wes' previous PB having come at the Valencia Marathon 2014 with a time of 2:48:56.
Over at Netherhall on Sunday, Paul Graves was taking in the Netherhall 10 miler. Gravesy came 2nd to none other than Ricky Lightfoot finishing in a time of 56:54.
Photos for Gravesy on the day can be found at this link (
Sunday also saw a DH Runners mob head over to Blackpool, via a detour to Preston, for the Great North West Half Marathon. It was literally a case of four seasons in one day as there was sunshine, rain, wind, hailstones and snow. There was also the hurt locker, breathlessness and tears. Everyone knew they had been in a battle that day as at least six miles of the race (including the last three miles) were into winds of 20mph.
Notable mentions to Michael Storey who was the first DH Runner home in 1:32:21, Matt Begg who beat his previous half marathon PB by finishing in 1:36:16 and DH Runner's very own Derek Acorah, Andy Baker, who managed a 21 minute PB by completing the course in 1:48:51.
We are currently compiling a list of PB's over at the DH Runners website. Here you can register your 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon PB's. Also, we have a tell us how you got on form where you can tell us what events you have taken part in. This information will be vital for the compiling of these weekly roundups. If you have any pictures of events you've taken part in please email them to DHRunnersteve@hotmail.com.
Happy running, Steve.
