The culmination of our club championship season was at the Great Langdale Pudding Run on Saturday December 3rd.
The following runners took to the start line:

With the race over the club championships went to Paul Graves for the men and Anni Stumpf for the ladies. The trophies were handed over that night at the DH Runners Christmas Party.

Congratulations to our new club captains – Mark Drummond and Nicola Jackson, Runner of the year – Beverley Armstrong and Beginner of the year – Glen Blakey.
Stephen Weston, Ian Harkness and Michael ‘Curly’ Irving headed out to Ulverston to take part in the Ulverston 10k Xmas Pudding Run on Sunday December 4th. The event was organised by Hoad Hill Harriers.
Wes came in seventh with a time of 35:16
Harky was next up in tenth with a time of 35:44
And Curly finished in thirteenth with a time of 36:13.
The lads also took home the team prize.
Club representation was also taking part at the Cumbria Cross Country league which also took place on Sunday December 4th. John McGibbon, Michael Holliday and Matthew Holliday were sporting the red and black as they competed locally at Rickerby Park in Carlisle.
On December 11th a whole host of DH Runners donned Santa suits to take part in the Santa Dash. The Santa Dash was organised following the combined efforts of Sport In Action, DH Runners and Carlisle Tri Club as well as a whole host of local companies and charities. The aim was to raise as much money for local charities Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
A whopping 54 runners ran under the DH Runners banner in the timed 5k, many more taking part in the 2k fun and numerous others pulling volunteering duty. Thanks to everyone volunteering and taking part a massive amount has been raised for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. Thanks must go to Lindsay Graham and her volunteering team who put in a massive amount of time and energy getting everything ready for the event.

Hello everyone, welcome to November’s round up of results and events.
First up is a shout out to all the DH Runners that took part in the People’s Run 2 Remember 5k at Workington on October 30th.
And now we move on to November.
On Saturday November 5th a number of DH Runners headed over to Glenridding to take part in the Helvellyn trail runs. The trail run was part of a series of runs put on by Lakeland Trails.
Andy Shannan, Michael Storey, Paul Rawlinson and Caroline Evans took part in the 15k trail run.
Andy finished in 1:09.24
Michael was next up in 1:12.53
Closely followed by Paul in 1:139.39 and Caroline in 1:19.42
Rachel Lee, Michelle Mackay, Frances Braithwaite and Adrienne Harris took part in the 10k trail run.
Rachel finished in 1:08.07
Michelle finished in 1:22.07 with Frances and Adrienne both finishing on 1:22.08.

On Sunday November 6th a whole host of DH Runners took part in the next club run for the club championship; The Derwentwater 10.

The race for the club championship is nearing the end and the current positions are as follows:
Leading the ladies in positions 1, 2 and 3 are Anni Stumpf, Lorna Graham and Fiona Moore and leading the gents in positions 1, 2 and 3 are Paul Graves, Kevin Scott and David Macgillivray. With only one race left, The Great Langdale Pudding Run 10k, the eventual winners will be revealed at the Christmas Party on Saturday 3rd December.
On November 13th Andrew Graham and I headed over to Lytham-St-Annes to take part in Fylde Coast Runners Remembrance Run Windmill 10k. The race starts after a 2 minute silence and for both of us finished just over 42 minutes later.
Andrew finished in 42:03 and I crossed the line not long after in 42:36.
Sunday November 20th saw representation in the Chorley Fire 10k (also put on by Fylde Coast Runners) from Nina Errington and Kirsty Mahoney.
Nina crossed the line in 57:34 and Kirsty finished in 59:18, both managing PB’s in the process. Well done ladies.
Michael Holliday was in action on the 20th at the Wooler trail marathon. Finishing in an impressive 5:02.32 in 16th place. Solid trail running right there.
The big home event was the Brampton to Carlisle 10 mile run. 31 DH Runners rocked up to the start line for this with the results as follows:

Well done everyone and on a personal note it was great to see some of our newer runners representing the club for the first time.
In other news we recently held our AGM where the committee added two new members to the table in Anni Stumpf and Paul McKnespiey taking on the roles of Female Rep and Treasurer respectively. Also taking place at the AGM was the London Marathon Ballot draw which was won by Stu Windsor. Well done and good luck Stu.
Finally a shout out to our Thursday beginners group as it celebrated its 2nd anniversary. The beginners group and the You Can Run sessions have had some amazing feedback over the past couple of years and long may it continue.
That wraps up the month of November.
Upcoming we have the Great Langdale Pudding Run and the DH Runners Christmas Party on Saturday December 3rd, Ulverston 10k and Cumbria Cross Country in Rickerby Park on Sunday December 4th and the Santa Dash on Sunday 11th December.
