Sunday 22nd May 2016
As promised in the last round-up we’ll focus first on the Moorclose 10k which took place on the evening of Tuesday 10th May. Since its adoption into the club championship last year it’s been a very well supported run by our club. You may have seen the photo from 2014 where seven DH Runners took part. Our numbers have certainly gone up in comparison to the photos of 2015 and 2016.
All in all 37 DH Runners started the race with notable mentions to:
Paul Graves – 4th place with a time of 33:27 (M35 prize winner)
Annika Stumpf – 39th place with a time of 40:49 (3rd Female) and a PB
Joanne Hazell – 56th place with a time of 42:42 (F35 prize winner)
Plenty of PB’s out on the course (including one from this guy) and a few attempting their first 10k. PB congratulations go to; Anni Stumpf, Mel Warwick, Andrew Pescod and Carold Douglas.
Well done all. You can find the results here:
On Sunday the 15th May we had representation in both the Howgills Marathon and Half Marathon.
Howgills Half results:
Stu Windsor in 6th place with a time of 2:02.02
Lucy Lamb in 28th place with a time of 2:19.24
Daniel Gill in 62nd place with a time of 2:44.32
Howgills Marathon results:
Michael Irving in 11th place with a time of 4:04.02
Richard Henry in 134th place with a time of 5:48.53
Peter Murray in 141st place with a time of 5:55.57
Some great times there on what I’ve been told was a very tough course.
Also on Sunday 15th May, In Chester the Graham’s were taking part in the Chester Half Marathon. Lindsay was raising funds for the Mother’s Union.
Lindsay Graham – 1:58.28
Andrew Graham – 1:58.29
If you’d still like to donate to Lindsay’s cause you can find it at this link:
Yet another great turnout for the local Sport in Action Urban 10k Trail Race which took place on Wednesday 18th May. Well done to all that took part. It was a pretty hot one out there. There were plenty of DH Runners not only running but Marshalling and supporting. Thanks to all for getting behind another local run.
Notable mentions to:
Stu Windsor who finished in 2nd place with a time of 36:01.
No PB’s to mention this time around but plenty of people saying that they’d beaten the time from the year previous so well done all. You can find the results here:
Updated Club Championship – With two runs now underway in the club championship the tables are starting to take shape.
In the top three positions for the men we have; Paul Graves, Kev Scott and Chris Knox
While for the females we have Anni Stumpf, Jo Hazell and Lorna Graham.
The Tri Club 10k is the next up on the club championship. There’s still plenty of time to shake those tables up.
Upcoming we have participation at Windermere Marathon, Carlisle Tri 10k, Keswick Mountain Festival, Edinburgh Half/Marathon and Liverpool Rock and Roll. Early reports coming out of the Keswick Mountain Festival sound good. More on that next time once the results are published.
Until next time:

David said after the race, “The start and finish was on the towns main street with the town brass band playing and thousands out watching the tour of Yorkshire cycling just before the start of the run. One fatal mistake was going to the pub before the race.”
On Saturday 7th May Stu Windsor, Andrea Young and Mark Drummond took part in the Staveley 10k.
Stu finished with a chip time of 51:21 in position 3. As a prize for finishing in 3rd place Stu won a place in next year’s race.

After the event Paul said, “Both of the events are open to walkers and runners (or those who want to mix between the two) and are highly recommended for both the challenge and the scenery.”
On Sunday 8th May many DH Runners took part in the Eden Valley Hospice Colour Run. There were some amazing pictures coming out of the event which you can view on the EVH Facebook page. Well done to everyone who took part.
