Welcome to February’s round up of results and events.
We’ll start with catching up with the X Border Reverse 10k which took place on Sunday 29th January. The results for participating DH Runners were as follow:

Kicking off the month on Saturday 4th February saw Heather Eccles taking part in the Lancaster Race Series 315 5k. Heather completed the race in a PB of 21:26. Heather was the second lady over the line and managed to bag a prize haul in the process. Well done Heather.
Next up was the Valentine’s day 10k on Sunday 12th February.
3 Loved up couples rocked up to this one with the results as follows:
JP Whalen – 57:07, Russell Hind – 58:55, Jill Glencross – 59:47
Kate Whalen – 1:03.18, Andrea Young – 1:16.50 and Mark Drummond – 1:16.52.
Also on Sunday 12th February we had participation in the Barcelona Half Marathon.
Kev Mulvey – 1:26.21, Anni Stumpf – 1:32.02, Julie Story – 1:45.49 and Duncan Remington – 2:02.45.
Paul Todd took part in the Glaspalast Winterlauf 10k in Stuutgart on Sunday 19th February. Paul finished the race in 57:52 and proclaimed afterwards that it was “very hilly.”
Also on Sunday 19th February a small group of DH Runners headed to Blackpool to take part in the infamous Great North West Half Marathon organised by Fylde Coast Runners. The weather wasn’t too bad compared to previous years but the wind still managed to make an appearance. Times as follows:
Steve Claringbold – 1:34.06, Tony Mills – 1:34.58, Brian Hazelwood – 1:37.23,
Andrew Graham – 1:37.51, Beverley Armstrong – 1:43.11, Morag Thompson – 1:56.35 and
Dave Thompson – 1:57.23
And back to Blackpool for more results.
The Stanley Park 10k took place on Saturday 25th February. Again a small contingent headed over to take part in the event organised by Fylde Coast Runners. Results as follows:
Simon Dolman – 45:57, Tracy Pagin – 55:12, Emma Taylor – 57:59, Louise Porter – 58:35,
Elaine Doran – 59:42 and David Firth – 1:09.08
This race took place on yet another wet and windy day so well done all. Congratulations to Simon Dolman who notched up a PB and a Tracy Pagin who bagged a PC PB.
Loads of events were taking place on Sunday 26th February.
Starting with the Dalemain Trail 10k.
Word on the street is that DH Runners had one of the biggest, if not the biggest, club representation on the day. There were plenty of DH Runners dipping their toes into trail running for the first time at this event. Results as follows were:

Rachel Lee – 1:15.24, Kate Whalen – 1:16.18, Pauline Connolly – 1:18.30, Sophie Wardle – 1:34.27,
Sarah Wardle – 1:34.31, Mandy Atkinson – 1:34.32 and Rebecca Birkett – 1:35.42
Paul Todd was in action at the Oulton Park Half Marathon. Paul completed the course in 2:01.15 and said afterwards that the conditions were a tad on the windy side.
Over in Maryport, Matt Charlton and John McGibbon were taking part in the Netherhall 10. Times as follows were:
Matt Charlton – 67:09 and John McGibbon – 75:42
Upcoming in March we have participation in the Haweswater Half, The Lorton School 10k and The Lancaster 5k Race Series (Race1) and more than likely a shed load more that I’m not aware of. Good luck to everyone in whatever race you have coming up, hope the training is going well.
